Trainer (Union Position)

Core Responsibilities

The Trainer (union position) will instruct new drivers and/or bus attendants/monitors on state and federal laws and regulations relative to driving a school bus or monitoring a school bus; train new employees on company policies and procedures; certify new drivers and bus attendants/monitors in the proper use of car seats, safety vests, and wheelchairs; conduct re-training; may assist with road tests and associated paperwork; other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a clean, valid CDL A, B, or C with P and S endorsements and have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience driving a school bus.
Excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Must be available to work when school is not in session, as needed.
Knowledge of NYS DMV/DOT and State Education Department laws and regulations
Must possess at least a High School Diploma or GED.
A satisfactory employment record including 2 years with no discipline.
A fully satisfactory safety record.
Must be active and maintain driving status by being in compliance with all regulations.

Requirements

The selected candidate will be required to obtain a 19-A Certified Examiner and a School Bus Driver Instructor (SBDI) certification if not already held.

Full-Time Dispatcher

Core Responsibilities

The Dispatcher will coordinate bus, driver, and attendant operations and interface with employees, staff, clients, and passengers.

Qualifications

Clean NY State CDL A, B or C with P & S endorsements.

Full-Time Router

Core Responsibilities

Create, update and modify routes for both public and private schools and special needs programs as it relates to door-to-door transportation.
Correspond with Terminal Managers, Dispatchers, and Drivers to ensure routes are being completed in the most efficient manner.
Respond to calls from parents, school administrators, etc. as it relates to routes.
Create, update and maintain student records.
Continually assess and fix route issues.

Qualifications

Three (3) years prior routing experience in the school bus industry is preferred but not required.
Must have knowledge of Long Island (Nassau & Suffolk), as well as the five (5) boroughs of NYC.
Must be computer proficient in Excel and have “hands-on” experience using GPS and Routing software.
Must possess excellent communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills and be customer service oriented.
A valid NYS CDL A, B, or C license with P & S endorsements preferred.

19-A Supervisor

Responsibilities

The 19-A Supervisor will monitor compliance of Drivers and Attendants.
Schedule and monitor required physicals, fitness-for-duty, and return-to-work evaluations.
Conduct road tests and defensive driving observations.
Maintain and manage all 19-A paperwork and prepare for DMV audits.

Requirements

Must possess an NYS CDL A or B with P & S endorsements. And have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience driving a Class B vehicle or one (1) year experience driving both a Class B and Class C vehicles.
Must be computer proficient in MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel).
Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
19-A Certified Examiner and School Bus Driver Instructor certifications.

Responsibilities

The Auto Technician is responsible for lube oil filter service, PMs, minor repairs, belts, tires, and battery, replace bulbs, and brake work as directed by a qualified technician. Also, check any vehicle being worked on for safety items such as lights working, and back alarm.

A valid NYS CDL B Driver License with P endorsement is preferred.
